Defining a Menu

It is necessary for you to define a menu before you can add items to it. 

Go to Backend of Magento 2 > Appearance 

Select the 'Menu' option to bring up the Menu Editor

Choose Create a new menu

Fill in a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box

Click on the Create Menu button

Your new custom menu has now been defined. 

Adding Items to a Menu

At left menu, there are three tabs: Page, Categories, and Custom Link.

Customizing Menu Items

Setting Mega Menu 

Admins can only establish a mega menu if that menu is on level 1. With a level one menu, click on gearwheel, you will able to set menu mega by choosing yes or no for for Is mega menu option.
